Try It Tuesday: Goop!

Remember when we put Ivory Soap in the Microwave and made something interesting for a Sensory Activity, well we are at it again with making GOOP!

It's simple and fun and produces a different sensory experience than the microwaved Ivory soap or Basic Homemade Play Dough.

All you need is a box of corn starch and a can of shaving cream, Kool Aid is optional if you want to add color. I split my cornstarch and shaving cream in to two bins and put in a full packet of kool aid in each. You could just leave it white. I used a spoon to stir in the kool aid to the shaving cream at first so that we wouldn't have as many stain on our hands (which does wash off easily.)

The the fun of mixing it together begins. I think the most interesting sensory texture is feeling the the shaving cream and corn starch as they mix together. Then after they are mixed together there is a completely different texture you are left with.

It can get a little messy when you start out, but that is all part of the fun.

This is the result of my son mixing together both colors. It is mold-able once you have it mixed together. This will dry out if left exposed to air, but just add a little water and it is moldable again. Be careful not too add too much water or it becomes like Oobleck. Oooh! I need to write a post about that!

Also - check out my other sensory activities that use play dough:
